Gloucester Gloucestershire College Atrium
Part of an event celebrating the unveiling of a new triptych by PJ Crook at the National Star College in front of 80 or so guests. Fripp commented that the performance “felt rather a chamber recital.” An audience containing an interesting array of folks that included Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit animation series and the former Estonian ambassador to the UK, Dr. Margus Laidre, Theo noted the gig contained some interesting improvisations.

Having allowed the audience to bask in the radiance of Blue Calm, the duo embark on a journey into slightly darker locations. After The Rains, while sombre in tone, gives way to a luminous guitar break surrounded by garlands of soprano sax and uplifting strings. Fripp recalled that after the performance, “Dr. Margus commented that he loved the second T&F improv; the Minx the last 2 pieces. Personally, a fabbo & most enjoyable evening supporting the arts, pals & good causes. Pretty much life as it might be, then.”
