The Vicar Forever / Man with a Woman on his Mind

An emotional delivery from Paul Ibberson on Forever, backed, as always, by the talented cast of hand picked pro studio musicians. Steve Porters' tongue in cheek delivery of Man With a Woman On His Mind, shows us just how fun The Vicar can be with his classic arrangement and observations of everyday situations. Enjoy these latest tracks from The Vicar Songbook # 1 introduced by the ever so talentless DJ Stormy
2013

The Vicar San Manuel / She Closes Her Eyes

Two Delicate ballads from the Vicar Songbook #1. Both of these tracks have Horacio Pozzo as the backbone instrumentalist to accompany the two powerful vocal performances. DJ Stormy does his best to ruin these fine tracks.
2013

The Vicar In Dying Fire / Count your Blessings

Two more cracking tracks from The Vicar Songbook #1, both sung very sensitively by Andy Yorke. After listening to the demo's of these and other songs, Andy felt he could really get behind these tracks, and make them his own.
2013

The Vicar Inside My Head / Lonely Sunday

Here are the last two tracks from The Vicar Songbook #1. David Singleton takes to the mic on these songs, tackling them in the only way he knows how, with genuine feel and commitment. (After all he did write them!) With the release of this album already on iTunes, and the physical version coming at the end of March, beginning of April, the next installment is already being prepared for the recording studio.
2012

The Vicar Girl with the Sunshine / Childhood Days

DJ Stormy unleashes his Beginners Guide to The Vicar Songbook#1 - two songs a fortnight building into a full volume of wondrous songs and surprises. Yours to own for the princely price of...nothing at all. Described by Tim Bowness of Burning Shed as "a distinctive modern take on English Psychedelic Pop with strong, serious, 20th Century influences." The full album is available for download from iTunes and Amazon from this Thursday 22nd November - with a CD/DVDA release with sumptuous surround sound and a complete Vicar video adventure on 28th January 2013.
2012

The Vicar That Boy's Not Cool / The Moony Song

DJ Stormy continues his Beginners Guide to The Vicar Songbook#1 - another two tracks from this volume of wondrous songs and surprises. That Boy's Not Cool is the bastard child of a late night liaison between psychedelic pop and cartoon music. The Moony Song is, well, just glorious - although we note that the ending is described as "John Cale on bad acid", on the QuadrophonicQuad forums
2012

The Vicar Three Sides of Me / Twenty Two

Two more fabulastic tracks from the voluptuously volcanic vivaciousness that is The Vicar Songbook #1 - introduced as ever by the quiet retiring DJ Stormy.
2011

The Vicar Count Your Blessings

This was originally intended as a Christmas upload from The Vicar - but was delayed due to problems with iTunes. One of those songs that is both poignant and uplifting at the same time. And a perfect rendition by Andy Yorke, the singer from the Unbelievable Truth. Other notable musicians in The Vicar's occasional orchestra include the plaintiff viola and soaring violin of Cathy Stevens, the cello of Chaz Dickie and the oboe of Anthony Knights.
2011

The Vicar The Vicar Show Reel

This is Stormy's fast ride through the world of The Vicar, Song Book No.1. Encompassing the many moods of this wonderful album in less than ten minutes!
2010

The Vicar Childhood Days

The first of the official releases from the forthcoming Vicar Songbook #1,<br /> - a series of songs written by David Singleton, arranged by The Vicar, sung by a series of guest vocalists. David Scott is the lead singer and inspiration behind the Glasgow-based band The Pearlfishers. The vocals almost didn't happen after his car broke down on the way to the session from a snow-bound Glasgow airport. A song about leaving the place you grew up - and the thoughts it provokes.
