Actually the gig wasn’t too bad and in some respects holds together better than the previous two nights in Copenhagen. FraKctured is surprisingly sprightly despite some of the problems mentioned by Fripp, though One Time suffers from a touch of drift here and there. The Improv tonight has a slo-mo brooding feel to in which Belew stretches and drapes a strangulated series of notes across the rumble and roll of the rhythm buddies to great effect. All told this one of the more cohesive improvs from the European tour though one suspects that the band’s misgivings about the gig prevented its inclusion on the Heavy ConstruKction set. LTIA 4 is one of the real highlights of the evening being both incisive and swaggeringly monstrous. Never an easy thing to do but, against the odds, Crimso pull it off.
