Fripp creates a very dramatic backdrop against which Billy Sheehan and Steve Vai embark on a crooked stomp and march, with various slaps and trills heard along the way. Once the ‘scape goes into wind-up mode, the pair be heard adding rumbles and ricochets. There can be heard some distant cheers at the conclusion of Wailing In Paradise Lost.
Marcin was unswayed by the presence of extra musicians in the soundscapes and felt “Mr. Robert Fripp's music was completely disappointing. "G3" name should be rather changed into "G2". Where was the third guitarist?? Hidden behind the amplifiers?!” This distaste was by Karol who felt that Fripp was “wasting his time” while Maricek felt compelled to offer the Dorset guitarist some free career advice: “in my opinion this gig should be named "G2". Fripp's participation was mistake. Have he played guitar, though? Samplers, strange sounds - this was not J.M.Jarre concert. He should retire.”
For his part Fripp had this to say “I have been listening to Soundscapes from shows that were very badly received. Strangely, a lot of music sounds (to my biased ears) very powerful. Perhaps, as if the crowds didn't hear what was being played, rather than not liking what they were hearing.”
