An interesting set of solos placed amidst the loops. The first has that pensive, unsettled air. The second offers an almost unadorned scrabbling at the fretboard until loop II gradually swells up to consume the space around the notes. The third solo continues the darker theme, leaping between intense sorties at the high end of the neck and long, low growls of terror. On the fourth solo Fripp provides the audience with some respite from the darkness by producing some of his sweetest, angelic melodies. The final solo presents a stirring mixture of major and minor moods with Fripp’s quicksilver fingers in a dazzling blur of speed and emotion - the head and the heart in perfect synch with each other.
