Nine dates into the North American tour and Crimson’s energy levels are pretty good. The sonic space between THRAK's bookending themes and how the players choose to fill it, continues to fascinate. With Fripp spooling into tinkling bell tones Belew initially tinkling away on guitar-as-piano suddenly breaks into a rolling riff that’s not dissimilar to Three Of A Perfect Pair. After an especially loose-limbed Prism, an equipment malfunction on Fripp’s rig creates during Vrooom’s ‘fairy fingers’ section leaves Belew and Levin as a duet dancing in the breeze. This does however provide an opportunity to be able to hear Gunn’s baritone guitar-style part that rasps below the main riff which sadly, and all too often, was largely inaudible in live shows.

I hope that DGM make this show available in the future! It would be great to listen o...
