Followed as it is by a hurtling, churning version of Neurotica, Red, by comparison, sounds almost laid back.
Thrak's skittering brush-work whispers conspiratorially between rising strings, torrents of competing discordant piano, and waves of scorching bowed bass. The spell is broken when Mastelotto's thundering drums push the band into a few seconds of a bruising avant-rock punch-out.
A particularly powerful LTIA2, Vrooom and Coda, make for an especially convincing conclusion to the show with Belew shining brightly throughout.
