This is one of those ‘rough-around-the-edges’audience recordings that ends up squashing the performance into a tiny, faraway space sapping the kind of impact that was undoubtedly present had you been in the room. A lively show, but it's not without some problems. “Please allow me to tune this darn thing,” Belew says after Red wherein he heroically wrangles his fretboard attempting to corral the wandering pitch as best he could. "It's all excitement galore, excitement everywhere,” says the singer after the band has finished the formal encore. Just as Belew is about to make another announcement, Levin taps out the prelude to Elephant Talk but Belew signals him to stop. “Tony Levin’s an excitable guy,” he explains. “It also happens to be Tony Levin’s birthday today” causing sustained applause and appreciation from the lively crowd who begin singing Happy Birthday accompanied by some non-scripted Sticking from the man himself. Quite a moment!
