A scorching version of LTIA 2 has an already enthused crowd go off at the deep end as Belew holds a single note and Fripp detunes the low notes to create a dive-bombing effect. It’s stunning stuff as is, it most be said, the reaction of the punters. “MORE MUSIC” yells someone and that’s exactly what they get with Sartori In Paris as the encore. There’s lots of space in the intro which only gradually begins to tighten and become more dense as the track gets underway. It quickly shapes up to be one of the most interest renditions of the track but is cut short when the tape runs out. Oh well.
While it won’t win any plaudits from audiophiles, it could well be that if you were to buy just one gig from the entire bundle then this might be it.
