This piece was a long time in the making. The various distinct elements that make up the piece were all tested out during what would ultimately be an inconclusive run of rehearsal and recording sessions during 1983 and early 1984. Eventually, the different sections evolved into one whole track, where it was recorded as LTIA III and the closing track on the Three Of A Perfect Pair track. Beginning with Bill's kick drum and Tony Levin’s isolated bass on the intro, in this alternative ear-view, we transition to the coda section where Adrian Belew’s guitar work can be heard in full, revealing several embellishments that never made it to the final mix.
