It was completely unexpected. When walking past the club Het Paard Van Troje, I noticed a poster on the wall. The band that played that night was billed as Fripp, Fripp, Fripp. I hesitated, but decided to return in the evening. First on was Toyah, performing het album Prostitute, with the aid of a backing tape and two musicians. A very animated performance. Then Robert Fripp came on stage and they played the track Sunday all over the World, featuring what was to be the only guitar solo by Robert Fripp that night. It was as if being hit by an aural laserbeam. I saw two people in front of me also being hit by the intensity of the solo. I do not remember much else. Robert Fripp sat on a stool on the right. His attention seemed completely turned inward. Near the end of the concert the drummer looked as if he was being posessed by the music. It was a cooking gig. It would take three years until the Kneeling at the Shrine cd was being released.
