“Is this dancing, I ask you?” Says Robert after the customary three numbers in. It’s common at LOG gigs to hear people shouting out “Crimson!” And for those dancing and listening they may have picked up on Robert’s cheeky quote from Red inculcated into the body of the first Thrang of the evening. At the end of Boy At Piano, there’s something that rarely happened on the tour. A voice from the bandstand other than Fripp’s remonstrates with a section of the audience for their immobility. “Listen. There’s people dancing at the back and you lot at the front seem to think it’s a zoo or something. So if you go to the back and watch and let the people at the back come and dance that would be a lot better, alright.” Presumably, this is Barry Andrews making known his frustrations about those punters who were sometimes referred to as ‘trainspotters’ by the band.
