Recorded just two days before the debut of the Double Duo at 12th & Porter in Nashville, Pat Mastelotto, Trey Gunn and Robert Fripp briefly reincarnate themselves as ProjeKct Three. Underpinned by a metronomic pulse the terrific trio (as P3 were often called) rapidly reassembled to put their gear through its paces with a little limb-loosening exchanges.

ProjeKct 3 was my favorite ProjeKct by far. This one had the most power, for my ears. This however, I couldn’t finish listening to. Sounded to me like they were just noodling with synth patches rather than really making music. Having said that, this was obviously something that wasn’t intended for release, so perhaps its purpose should be taken into account. Maybe ProjeKct 3 needed an audience to really start the fire.

Any projeKct archive stuff is just awesome. This sound quality is beyond belief and since the ProjeKct/TCOL era Crim is my fav this is just an extra special treat. I’d really be interested in hearing some of the PXL rehearsal stuff which has only surfaced in a limited form, some Vicar mixed orchestral stuff and Ex Uno Plures? (and a vid of Thela briefly available from adrian’s website). EUP though is enough to warrant a release of some of that rehearsal stuff. KCCC anyone? Anyway, kind ...
