Just a couple of weeks after the double trio incarnation of King Crimson had played at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, the Robert Fripp soundscapes roadshow (as it wasn’t called) rolled into the BBC Radio 1 studios in Manchester and onto the airwaves of the Mark Radcliffe show.

During the course of the interview we get to hear some sonic mayhem courtesy of the Soundscapes rack entitled Take This - a wry reference to then current news of the break-up of boy band, Take That. It’s followed by a fun duet between Fripp and Radcliffe, who worries a drum machine, entitled No Pottyflushing, and a final piece that breaks free of the levity with a somewhat serene and reflective ‘scape.

Containing lots of witty banter and several topical references to projects such as 1999, and A Blessing Of Tears, there are also mentions of his work with King Crimson, FWDD, League Of Gentlemen, David Bowie and others. A fab little Fripp time capsule this one.

I am an American, specifically L.A., so not likely to be too familiar with.....is it....."Mark Radcliffe"??That guy is a complete nut!    Did he just happen to drop several amphetamine pills before starting the "duet" / "interview"???     lol
