“Five people came together with deliberation and spontaneity and worked together without compromise and Schizoid Man came out. The band had so much energy, although it was negative, it had a colossal amount of energy which for a period of time it focused on one aim, which simply expressed, and with the conceit of youth, was to be the best band in the world, and for six months I think it probably was. For six months there was no force on heaven or earth which could have stopped King Crimson. Then two of the guys fell in love and the focus of attention evaporated and things got problematic.”
