Fripp angrily glared at me during this (great) show--also wrong venue listed
I attended this show over a quarter century ago. I had seen Mr Fripp with a large group of Guitar Craft students at Georgetown University in 1988 and was unsure what to expect at this (much smaller) venue. Although I do remember the performance being scaled back acoustic, the details are kind of fuzzy. What isn't fuzzy is that Mr Fripp gave me a very hostile look because I was smoking a cigarette which apparently was not allowed. Needless to say, I dropped that habit a few short months later...

Also--and this is probably the most salient piece of information I can add regarding this show--Ella Guru's was a club/restaurant co-owned by the now famous music promoter Ashley Capps (AC Entertainment) who, amongst other things, created a number of music festivals including Bonaroo, Big Ears, et.al. Ella Guru's filed for Bankruptcy in 1990 and by the time this concert took place it was defunct. This concert actually took place at The Foundry which was located at the World's Fair Park. I have little doubt that Mr Fripp was originally booked by Mr Capps to play at Ella Guru's, but when that location shuttered the venue was changed. Whereas Ella Guru's was a spacious venue, The Foundry was relatively small.
