As with all Crim clams, it’s really about the recovery and so as they rumble along we get to witness many moments of heroic resurrection and redemption. Fripp turns in a concise and powerful solo on Dinosaur and an energetically-paced Talking Drum into LTIA really builds into something special.
As the focus within the music drifts and slips in places, it’s obvious that the double drumming between Gavin and Pat is truly this tour’s secret weapon and it puts a super-charged fuel into KC’s tank all the while moving with a graceful economy. Therefore it’s no surprise that B’Boom is one of the most satisfying numbers of the set. While there are some fiery individual moments to be savoured across the gig as a whole the collective spirit, though willing, is sometimes weaker than it should be at this point in the tour.
