There’s a heavier vibe present in the opening piece by the boys on would be prove to be the final P6 gig. There’s a greater upfront urgency in the soloing right from the off and once again, it’s Time Groove which provides Fripp with the platform to really take off. As with Keswick, there’s a rush of strikingly beautiful melodic ideas and lines being floated here. A steadier Queer Jazz provides a kind of provisional holding space as Fripp clicks through the settings coming up with phat bass and toward the end, some especially jagged sounds that save the day. The especially reflective loop on End Time brings the P6 experiment to a somewhat sombre conclusion.
