A truly rhapsodic performance from Fripp on this his fourth day in Estonia’s churches[endtease] and in which he continues to lay himself open to a muse that is both powerful and moving. Best known for his complex and often caustic guitar work within King Crimson, Soundscapes come from the heart rather than the head – Fripp at his most revealed and most vulnerable.

The folds and layers of this gradually unfolding music may give the casual listener the impression that little is happening. Yet this is anything but minimalist music.
The depth of his musical ideas means every theme invoked has the capacity to touch and move.

Regular listeners to the ongoing soundscapes series will recognise several motifs used by Fripp on Time Stands Still and At The End Of Time, though the stunning Evensong and its transcendent coda opens a fresh seam for Fripp to mine.

Sparkling with a melody line that slowly ascends and falls, surrounded by a gentle carillon of bells, it offers a travelogue of the soul; recounting the beauty and the desolation, the despair and the hope that it’s possible to witness in a lifetime. Highly Recommended.

Excellent music ! (English version)
I make excuses myself in the first place for English, but I do not know it ! I have made translate my thought from a system automatic rifle. I must express my best ones compliments to an artist like Robert Fripp which, once again astonishes to us and it makes us to dream far and serene and above all restless worlds! From Italian yours fan! Robert Fripp is Best!

Excellent!
Personally, I do not find this music to be darker.  Deeper is a better description.  I’ve been a fan since the Frippertronic days and for me this is amoung the best I’ve heard so far.  It’s right up there with Blessing of Tears.

Wow
This is one of the most compelling listens of all the soundscapes. Sid was not exagerating one bit. Robert really puts forward some new material on themes that have been established for almost a year. This performance provides the best use of space I have heard yet. The entire performance is more tranquil, and dark. Especially on At the End Of Time, and Even Song. This performance cant be listened to just one song at a time, the whole performance is essential to understanding the feeling. I woul...

a longer sense of the time
A slight and inevitable return, just as a partial vision, to some fifteen years ago to a minor but well known threnody, just when the destiny of the old earth was apparent to a very few. It is of great consolation to trust somebody who can hold in front of himself a longer sense of the time, and who does remember what we all got through. any series of soundscapes seem like a painful transition to the next in retrospective but this one are an example of the best possible synthesys so far. we fe...
