An assertive flurry of strident notes and shimmering fanfare gives the audience a clue that something is underway. The musical language here is fluid, with several high-register lines shifting shapes and floating in amorphous clouds.
In the second piece, twinkling bell tones cradle steely strings. While these are cautious unfurling, they are visited by a glitchy rhythmic motif orbiting these austere, spacey reaches.
