The first of a series of Fripp’s main soloing during Time Groove Boston sets out a rather soulful, yearning direction against Ade’s mid-tempo beats.

It’s interesting to hear some of the themes that Robert had been working though during solo soundscape concerts now being incorporated into more rock-orientated settings.

End Time Boston has an ascending drum-triggered bass line that puts one in mind of the middle section of Sailor’s Tale. The mood however is completely different, with Fripp’s massed strings and solo taking on a sombre gait until they ramp things up for the final two or three minutes.

Overall, this is sound of a somewhat cautious P6 looking to find their feet in a live context.

The Project six shows are my first downloads as part of the 1000 club and as a fan of the original projeKcts and early 00s Crimson this seemed like a good place to start. Line up wise P6 is P2 minus Trey Gunn, in this formation the backdrop is filled with Robert's soundscapes and solos,while Adrian plays drums/triggers bass lines with his V Drums (I assume). ProjeKct Groovy
This ProjeKct has a sound quite far from P1, P3, and P4. It's open and melodic and accessible. Adrian plays a stripped down but groovy percussion and triggers base (from drum? from keyboard?). Over this, Fripp has lots of room to play, and he chooses to do it in more of a rock (jazz?) style than purely soundscape (though there are elements of that). I recently came here and found the range of material on offer. I love KC but frippertronics/discotronics have me more mesmerised.
