Pat Mastelotto and theramin player Pamelia Kurstin (collectively known as Tunisia) are releasing their first album, coinciding with a joint appearance as part of this year’s IB Expo in Halmstad, Sweden in November.
The IB expo is an annual event hosted by Sweden’s Isuldurs Bane that brings together musicians from different backgrounds and disciplines. The line-up this year includes Luca Calabrese (trumpet), Mick Karn (bass), Pamelia Kurstin (theremin), Pat Mastelotto (drums) Janne Schaffer (Swedish guitarist who has played with ABBA, Bob Marley and Billy Cobham to name but three slightly disparate acts), Valgeir Sigurdsson (musician, engineer, producer who has worked with Bjork) and Isildurs Bane.
The event takes place at not at Halmstad Town Hall, Sweden, as previously reported (my bad) but at Kulturhuset (the House of Culture), Halmstad, on Saturday 8th November. My thanks to Thomas for the heads-up and correction.
