NEW SOUNDSCAPE BUNDLE
Posted by Sid Smith on Apr 8, 2024

There are nine soundscapes available for downloading. They are taken from Robert's tour of Argentina in 2007 with the League Of Crafty Guitarists. Please note that only Robert's soundscapes are available. While most of the soundscapes are previously unreleased, Mendoza III from the 2nd June was chosen by Robert for no. 27 in the Music for Quiet Moments series, Mendoza III from the 3rd June was No. 1 MFQM, and Buenos Aires III was No. 50 MFQM.

There are 9 performances in total, which can be downloaded  singularly or as a bundle (Tagged in red on the tour page

The LCG players as they sat in the semi-circle, from left to right, viewed from the audience): Luciano Pietrafesa, Leonardo Requejo, Carolina Tonerlier, Jorge Sevilla, Martin Schwutke, Ignacio Gracián, Claudio Lafalce, Fernando Kabusacki, Ignacio Furones, Mariana Scaravilli, Hernán Nuñez.

Mariana Scaravilli, who visitors to the site will know from her work newsing here and RF/KC social media, was one of the LOCG players on the tour and recalls her experience of hearing the soundscapes from the other side of the stage.

Anticipating being moved by the Soundscapes, wondering how would it be possible to perform The LCG repertoire while holding such a strong moving feeling, music flooded the space and the body with a feeling of unity, clearly supporting our sense of presence, and therefore our playing, in various inexpressible ways.

Some of the remarkable characteristics of all Soundscapes of the tour, in my experience: at the very beginning of each performance the space was tuned in a breathtaking and deeply moving sounding dance, often serene, often uneasing, changing my/our state (and perception, even visually so) continuing to transform into colourful healing nourishment towards the completion of each performance. The performance space was left uplifted and with a sense of renewed hope, reportedly shared by performers and audience, sometimes in tears.

The performance on May 30th, in Rosario, had a distinctive flavour, possibly because of the remarkably tangible support of the audience.
