as a term, a Day Of Rest is an appropriate one.
for much longer courses, on the Seventh Day the morning exercise was at our discretion; this variation freshening the sitting. Where there is a Day of Rest, without a sitting, the decision exercise is not impossible but not fully supported.
in my own practice, my Day of Rest is rarely a day off; rather a day of addressing a different range of concerns to those during the rest of the week. without a morning exercise, i do not undertake a decision exercise on that day.
however, i am prepared to temper my practice to fit with the common practice of any group of which i am a part.
a visiting-person to Sherborne remarked that they did the morning exercise 5 days a week; ie not at the weekend. i was horrified! but their intention was, to try a different approach & with the aim of refreshing their sitting…
so, the Sixth Day is the Community Exercise, and hence variation; the Seventh Day is a Day of Rest.

18.29 Driving to & from the dentist listening to the Adrian Belew Power Trio’s e. Now this is what I call a power trio. Lotsa fun. Current favourite is B. Along the listening-way a few chuckles when I caught the musical puns.
On a scale of wretched to agony the dentist was not terrible.

the work… has been at your own initiative & i am not directly involved in it. so, i am concerned that the casual visitor might become involved believing themself to be, in some sense, directly connected to RF / GC… it would be more appropriate for your work to fly under your own flag… this is your work & it is proper that you declare this clearly, accept responsibility for it, and make this clear to students who express interest.
