Toyah amp I are returned

17.40 Toyah & I are returned from lunch at Veronica's, near Downton. Four actor-persons, one theatre director, an angel (a person who supports the theatre) and a dog called Fizz which is shedding its coat. It's fascinating to hear anecdotes and stories from the luvvie world, rather than the escapades of (primarily male) rockers of a certain age. Theatre is an ongoing and living tradition, with a repertoire both established and growing. I'm not sure that this is true of contemporary rock music; and I'm not sure rock continues to hold its capacity to transform both performers and audience.

Toyah's pantomime has completed its run, and this morning she has been as bright and happy as I can remember. We even got to have a late lay-in, justified in my case by jet-lag. But the exciting domestic news is that Beaton the Wonder Bun (who was noisily eating the artificial rabbit in the bedroom during the night) has FOUR different kinds of rabbit food to sample. A pet food company is eager to have Bun pass approval, and make him a star endorsee. The Little Horse returned last night with her car full of it.

Tomorrow the BBC arrive to shoot part of the Valentine's Day "Songs Of Praise" programme here, and my wife is set to interview me on the subject of love.
