World HQ.

10.30

A grey day in the Chalke Valley. DGM Parking lot…

DGM Garden…

Alex has taken the first load of equipment to All Saints’ Church, two hundred yards down the road from DGM HQ. Time for me to take up the guitar and become collected before walking down the street to join Alex and David. It’s not often that I can walk to work.

All Saint’s Church, Broad Chalke I…

The Altar…

Towards The Congregation I…

Towards The Congregation II…

14.19 Light rain going, light rain returning.

Entered the church punctually at 12.30 and began playing perhaps four minutes later. The audience were around forty-fifty with locals, Guitar Craft people, and others I didn’t know.

A gentle event, I believe. No idea how it might have been for the audience. The ninety minutes of music may have been sixty too many for some of those present, but the event is always more than the music. Sometimes, the event happens while the music doesn’t quite. Sometimes, the music is superb and the audience doesn’t connect to it. And those are only two of the possible ways that performance might happen.

Loading the equipment back into DGM SoundWorld I with David and Alex, a little lunch, and soon off to Bredonborough.
