John, Biff and Robert left Chateau Belewbeloid c. 12.15 for car drop-off at airport, and then onto North Carolina. With pit and dinner stops, this came to lotsa driving: nine hours.
For the dinner stop, an Applebey’s on a road system near Asheville was selected; on the grounds that Appleby’s is a known quantity (an environment of brash cheer and modest foods which eventually allow their indigestibility to mostly yield to gastric juices), and was 20 feet from the stationary van. My dining choice: breaded shrimps. One of these shrimps somewhat resisted the digestibility test, and attacked my uvala (http://www.drhull.com/EncyMaster/U/uvula.html) with its sharp and still intact tail on the way down. Yowch!
