Hotel Acceptable Sendai As I

21.01
Hotel Acceptable, Sendai.

As I arrived at the door this afternoon, fumbling with the key, the telephone was ringing. By the time I picked it up, and the operator put me through to the caller, the caller had gone. A woman with an English voice, said the operator. So, I called both Toyah & my Sister but only got their answering machines.

Sendai is not quite a town for a free day. We would have preferred another day at the Grand Hyatt, Canal City, Fukuoka. Quite a happening little area. A supportive audience, and a solid performance with new sounds emerging from Adrian & his new stuff.

The train from Osaka to Fukuoka stopped briefly at Hiroshima. When Crimson played there in 1984 I was stuck by the quality of silence. It is the particular kind of silence I associate with an English churchyard.

In Sendai, now back from dinner with Trey, Pat, Josh & Bill. This followed a long call with David Singleton on the future of DGM, which followed in turn a call to The Little Horse.
