David & Robert are in DGM SoundWorld I addressing Misere Mei…

One English translation might be miserable me! poor little me! Along the lines of how I suffer! I suffer so much! A better translation is more a cry or howl of despair emerging from a wailing & gnashing of teeth – O! I am a pitiful wretch! this, wrenching itself from one who has seen the utter poverty of their nature. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven… but it doesn’t feel quite that upbeat when we see there’s nothing here.

E-flurrying underway concerning various issues relating to some proposed live work. These confirm my view of live performance as a horrible way to earn a living.

The agent acting on behalf of a band, that I have been asked to guest with, would like my name to be featured prominently on posters, alongside the best-known member of the band. The less well-known members of the band are not even to be mentioned. This is the poster-as-lie. So, although I am not in the band, do not determine its direction & composing, my name would be used to suggest to the paying-public that I am a moving force in a venture in which I am not. This is only one reason why I spend less active time as a player in the industry, where deceit is one form of common currency (others are exploitation & theft).

The essence in the music of the Orchestral Soundscapes has moved outwards into sonics, the sound of wonder & wondrousness unfolding. The mixing, arranging & editing presentations are slightly different to the straightforward orchestral performances. The approach we are taking is the same that we take to editing Soundscapes; applying time & thought, developing alternative approaches to fit the performances. I find these arranged-arrangements glorious, stunning, moving, powerful.

David has just left I…
