A beginning sunny morning I…

Morning reading…

11.55 The Endless Road To Red continues. Mr. Stormy is in DGM SoundWorld I…

… addressing publishing in Japan. The obvious licensee is UMG, who have the publishing elsewhere in the world. Regrettably, despite our promptings and encouragement to step forward, UMG Publishing has been utterly useless in this respect, and done nothing to formalize a relationship over a period of several years. So, the license has gone otherwise and elsewhere.
Other subjects discussed: Vicar World; the seeing of King Crimson, compared to seeing The Double Trio formation while driving past Broad Chalke church (on the left) and school (on the right); The Guitar Circle.
Mr. Stormy joined David in endorsing DGM-approved mugs and fridge magnets I…

18.22 E-furying, computerizing, paperising. In the filing cabinet I…
… a cheque for £7971.00 signed by SG Alder Esq., exercising his Power Of Attorney to act on my behalf, dated 31 January 1991. This is a payment for interest on a loan from my pension fund to my company. As Dr. SG Alder had not paid record royalties (at this time) for three royalty periods, in part this constituted a forced and unacknowledged loan to Mr. Sam G Alder to help cover his cash calls from the Lloyd’s insurance market, at the same time as a collapse in the property market with subsequent impact on his property company. In effect, this interest payment by me is an interest payment that Mr. Alder did not have to make. This is only one document in the
long paper trail belonging to
Endless Grief. Mr. Alder’s control of information was a key part enabling him to drive forward the conflict of interest inherent in his position as my business manager, record company and music publishing company.
How might the position be today?
Dr. SG Alder would be likely be viewed by many as a
Pillar Of Society and a
Worker Of Good Works. An acknowledgement of poor behavior, with apology, would be a good move on Mr. Alder’s behalf IMO; and move this distressing matter towards redemption.
And another day of The R2R. The price has attracted some commentary on the DGM Guestbook. David left c. 17.55 after mentioning that, if we charged realistic current rates for DGM studio and time, The R2R Box Set would either not be released, or double the price.
Panegyric / DGM releases set the bar higher, then higher: as bootlegs become listenable, they cease to be bound by sonic-discounting and bootleg non-concern for sound quality. Declan Panegyric has good punter instincts, and when Dec tells us there is too much hiss, then back to further de-hissing. This requires a delicate balance: some of the music lives inside the hiss. Hence David and Mr. Stormy’s long days in DGM SoundWorld I.
Mr. Stormy has also just left.
21.27 A call from the Minx, back from a busy day and dealing with WillyFred’s dental concerns, including a visit to the dentist.
Here, online has halted as Mr. Stormy’s uploading of The R2R sound files have taken over the bandwidth for most of the evening. Now back into action, e-furying.
22.32 Enough. The floor is waiting.
