Whenever an establishment plays radio, it places sonic decision-making outside its purview and control; ie from the vantage point of the restaurant, the sonic blast is arbitrarily determined with conversation and advertising. What? This excellent restaurant is still good, but under new ownership – Madame has retired, our Italian waiterperson told us. The new owner is French and has another restaurant nearby. All fine, other than the amplitude of the NPU set to arbitrary & noisy. Oh dear.
