Just I was driving out of our gates in Bredonborough, a text message arrived from Alessandro the Good in Italy: Alitalia are on strike! Alessandro was not sure whether this would affect my flight or not. The Minx called DGM & Indeg checked the arising situation and, of the several cancelled flights, fortunately mine was not among them.
Terminal Two at Heathrow: security precautions remain high. For this visit I have brought my 15” computer: the computer case, designed for the 17”, bends & squidges sufficiently to fit into the 16” frame size of the one allowable on-board item.
My seat was in the Children Zone close to several loud & exuberant loinfruit, the youngest & tiniest crying for most of the 2’05” flying time after almost one hour on the ground. Another small person was sitting on their father’s lap behind me, kicking the back of my seat during playtime. A woman, on my left across the aisle, attracted the attention of Claudio, Italian male air steward person, who parked his trolley by us & talked to her for perhaps 15-20 minutes. When Claudio moved on with his trolley, Claudio’s place was taken by a man in the row behind me. He talked to her for perhaps 25 minutes and, after 5 minutes conversation changed his posture. That is, after 5 minutes he took his arse out of my face. An announcement from the captain, that passengers take their seats, had no effect on this standing Lothario. Perhaps on Alitalia crew instructions, that are considered binding or mandatory on other airlines, are more like guidelines. Or perhaps the standing passenger simply misunderstood the instruction to take his seat.
Alessandro was waiting for me at Rome & ferried me here in about 1.75 hours, arriving about 23.10.
Dribble.
