Bredonborough.

WillyFred has been in a mood. To begin the day, he was very resistant to the idea of moving downstairs from the bedroom to the kitchen. When I encouraged him to do so, he pissed on my right foot.

While continuing to reflect on the non-industry dissension, a problem at its core began to speak to me. Not sure that this insight will resolve the dissension, but it helps me better understand the difficulties in finding a resolution. This, for much of my morning and late afternoon.

In between, shopping on the High Street I…

Watering plants at World HQ and returning to the dissension. An important e-mail with three docs attached has recently flown off.

The Minx arrived c. 18.20 back from band rehearsals in Folkestone and business in Canterbury. Yippee!

Many thanks to Andy from Oz, but it’s not my birthday.

20.32    Just in from Sue Orchard: Brother Lew Orchard died on December 31st. 2012 from leukemia.

Sue and Lew were married for 39 years. The Orchards, and Brother Peter Willis, were my closest friends at Sherborne House. We last met in November 2010

Saturday 27th. November 2010;        12.42

Hotel Acceptable, Madison.

Lunch with Lew & Sue Orchard, pals from Sherborne House V (1975-76). We haven’t all three been together for maybe 32 years, although Lew came to a LCG performance at Long Beach in 1989. The conversation was as if continuing from an hour ago, widely ranging over moments that are present within our 35 year history.

We discussed subjects that, usually, end up with the label strange being attached to the person speaking. Like, of dreams informing conduct & thinking over a period of decades, and which lead to current decision-making. One of Lew’s contributions to our strange conversing was the notion of Confident Ignorance… Today, I was engaging with people who engage with life.

Although I haven’t spent much time in the physical company of Lew since 1976, he is a continuing foundation in my feeling life and friends-on-the-inside.

Lew’s Mother died three weeks after Lew, and Sue is Executor of both estates. Hard.
