Bredonborough Too cold for morning

18.01

Bredonborough.

Too cold for morning coffee & reading by the back door, but warm enough for our second day of the year in the garden. Sunshine & blues skies alternated with grey storm clouds, some rain & windy blasts, but time enough to enjoy a garden rapidly coming to life.

View to Bredonborough Abbey…

Plane tree over the garden wall…

This wonderful, powerful & benign presence is actually 3 plane trees planted together, c. 1770, to grow as one. Three of four gardens down, behind the street’s major house (with a genuine Adam room, presumably from when Adam worked at nearby Croome Court)

This is one of the few remaining areas where mistletoe continues to be well established…

A walk down to Bredonborough Bridge and along the other side of the Avon, opposite our garden end, and then back; a sufficient snapping of the whipcords to continue rebooting the flagging Fripp animal.

New bookshelves continue to be dressed with old & new friends. The Study is coming together very well.
