19.10    Honoured and most-welcome visitors for tea: Dan M and his English pal Alison. We were last with Dan, and Sistery Patricia, at the Bellagio in Las Vegas only two weeks ago. Dan is in England on route to business in Europe.

A fab afternoon.

20.59    Another MinxDate: once again over to the Bredonborough Arts Centre for a performance, one that didn’t quite ring our bell.

Returning home to heavy news: two friends, the sculptress Althea Wynne and her husband Anthony Barrington-Brown, were killed in a car crash on the A36 last Tuesday. When we were newly-arrived in Broad Chalke, not knowing anyone in the area, Althea and Tony took us in for their family Christmases: an act of kindness to strangers that exemplifies their character and generosity.
