Bredonborough Grey Off to Chez
10.17
Bredonborough.
Grey.
11.27 Off to Chez Minx in Chiswick.
19.15 Café, Gloucester Road, London.
Leaving for London c.11.40. The Minx had several meetings at Chez Minx …
… before going on to the BBC, guesting on tonight’s live
The One Show with Noddy Holder (this is live as I type). While T was dealing with her affairs, I was on the Chiswick High Street, online at Starbucks with mobile broadband - for the first time! E-flurrying now accompanies me just about everywhere.
Back to Chez Minx to find an electrician dealing with an appalling piece of work done by British Gas, who managed to screw up the installation of a new boiler, impressively, with various repercussions now needing to be addressed. Like, the damaged drainpipe, electrical fuse-tripping & external brass pipes laid as a form of decoration, rather than being buried as agreed. The “supervisor” who was to be “supervising” was both not a supervisor but a salesman, and he did not. The Minx left a polite message. I called back & left a message that was rather more direct, in a Dorset accent.
I have parked in Queensgate, near the Estonian embassy, and am having coffee. Dr. Margus Laidre, Ambassador to the UK, is dual-functioning as Ambassador & Patron of the Arts this evening.
23.12 Bredonborough.
A most enjoyable evening of chamber music from UMA. The Minx arrived from The One Show after the music had just ended, sadly, and we bad farewells to Dr. Laidre & fellow The Human Chris Wong.

UMA is a co-operation of two musicians – Aleksei Saks and Robert Jürjendal – who came together in the beginning of 2007. UMA plays it’s members` compositions, which have classical forming and nordic ambient atmosphere enriched with free and jazz improvisations…
First CD of UMA „Civitas Soli“ was released in the end on 2008 (Elwood) with great help of producer Markus Reuter (Germany) and ambient guru Robert Rich (USA). Despite its short activity time, UMA has performed on concerts in Estonia, Russia and Germany.
www.umamusic.comwww.vortexjazz.co.uk.Two of the three The Humans, Toyah & Chris Wong, are also part of a project facilitated by Dr. Laidre:
This Fragile MomentThis Fragile Moment is an eclectic musical assemblage fronted by the charismatic English vocalist Toyah Wilcox.
Recorded in Estonia this summer, the self-titled album centers around predominantly improvised live-in-the-studio performances by Toyah, bassist Chris Wong (of Toyah's other current project The Humans), producer & touch guitarist Markus Reuter, plus the members of Estonian duo Fragile: Arvo Urb (drums) and Robert Jürjendal (guitar)…
The self-titled album will be released on Unsung Records (UR012CD) on December 1st 2009. A pre-order link will be made available on November 9th.
All the members of this project, other than Arvo, were present at the embassy this evening.
Home, and about to move from dribbling to gentling.
