We lived at Beaton’s Reddish House in Broad Chalke (1987-99), Cecil’s country house following Ashcombe. Our stay was significantly undermined by the impact of Mr. SG Alder’s managerial abuse of trust; and the Endless Grief occasioned by this.

A morning packing and practising, until lunch.

A call came in from T, relaying a message from Di the Rabbit Whisperer: WillyFred is not in good shape and will most likely fly away in a day or so. This week’s exceptional playfulness of bun, with our evening bedroom-playtimes, WillyFred’s star appearance on Through The Keyhole, may be seen as bun saying good-bye to us and his home. Perhaps remisison? Most likely, WillyFred has renal failure. Simply, this Prince Of Rabbits is now a very old bunny, and has lived longer than most of his kind.

An afternoon practising, and then to stuff c. 17.00. Paper, e-flurrying, organising KC arisings: ticket sales, musical ideas.

20.16    A call from T in Skegness.

21.13    Computing – enough! Off to practising.

22.56    Done. The Minx anticipates being home c. 02.30.
