A grey morning in Bredonborough, with sun-outbursts.

E-flurrying & organizing for the week’s travelling.

A change of location for the Guitar Craft Completion Course in March 2010: from Argentina to Italy. This is in response to Director Nunez’ recommendation, given current arisings in Argentina.

Shortly off to Berkhamsted via Aylesbury.

22.06    B&B El Modesto, Berkhamsted.

Leaving Bredonborugh c. 13.40 for tea with Declan of Panegyric, our DGM distributor. One of the topics of discussion: recent non-transparent arisings in the music industry. Most enjoyable visit & onward to El Modesto of Berkhamsted.

Checking-in, if that is an appropriate term for an attic room over what used to be called a transport cafe. Onto Studio Jakko. Checking the set-up for tomorrow & discussing different approaches to our upcoming work together.

To a Café Rouge, close to El Modesto, for supper & new reading I…

Back to computing, the established aromas of English full-grill dining & e-flurrying. El Modesto has working wifi, which the slightly less modest B&B down the road did not.

Room with a view I…

To an e-correspondent pal, now an author on Indian music, enquiring about possible bass guitar tunings…

i'd go C G D A; and on a 5-string bass add the top E;
maybe D A E G.

tony levin uses a tuning with low C, and the thickest bass guitar string manufactured. so, for some, that would be too heavy.

but, these are theoretical, because i'm not a bass player...

Author pal continues, relating from his GC course…

i still remember your mnemonic for NST, always cracked me up: "california guitarists drop acid every gig." hard to forget that one!

Actually, this memorable mnemonic was long forgotten until a moment ago.
