… the Minx arrived home, just in time to enjoy the event on the front step.

The new pond-cover, to save our fish-chums in the fountain-pond from becoming finger-buffet to visiting heron, is judged a superb engineering solution to an industrial problem; but not quite appropriate in the garden of a period home.
