Alan Cosgrove my friend of

14.11 Alan Cosgrove, my friend of 36 years from Wimborne, is an estate agent. He took over my job when I left my Father's firm in 1965, and when he set up his own business in 1988 I sold him Fripp World Headquarters in Wimborne, opposite the Minster.

We have just spoken on the telephone and are having lunch next week. One of Alan's comments on the current state of his business is relevant to this Diary, the demise of the Guestbook, and comments in ET on "moderating is not censorship": the amount of anger which Alan encounters in his work.

ProjeKct Four in lively stages of live are vibrating behind me. A pile of paper has dwindled, leaving only a pile of paper.

My Sister has visited the Diary and called for the second time today, to let me know how happy she is to be called "The Frippster". This is a name given to her by Tom Carson, an antique dealer from the Bay area, and which has mistakenly been applied to me on occasions.
