News of the day:
KC touring in Europe. The Turku festival in Finland looks unlikely now because there is little time available to get the equipment to Finland after Spain, and the freight costs are prohibitive.
We have offers for Wolverhampton, Cambridge, Glasgow and Manchester: £1,250 per show. This is less than I would receive as a soloist anywhere outside the UK. So that leaves only one date in London, at Shepherd's Bush, which would pay the way. The Team discussed this at the beginning of our day. The reply to Richard this evening:
<Pat & Trey want to do as many shows as possible. Adrian wants to do London & sees no point in the others. My first take is to do them all or none of them. I hate playing London so much it'll take a lot of persuading to get me into that pit of negativity, animosity, ill-will & cynicism.>So, right now we don't know if KC will get to the green & pleasant land or not. Playing in London is not a musical event, so only one show doesn't give much chance for music, whether onstage or in front of it. Better to have a spread of shows so genuine enthusiasts, and the band, have an opportunity to taste the flavours available. For which all of us pay a high price.
Rehearsals continue, we move incrementally forward while discovering ever new and stunning errors, intervals and dislocated timing, dynamic shifts and timbral wonderments to disturb even the least sensitive. Today, ProjeKct Three re-appeared.
