DAY 72

Friday 13th - and I have very appropriately just spent four hours in A&E (hopefully nothing dramatic, although I apparently may have BPPV - "the most dramatic non-serious illness" - which means that I occasionally get up and fall on the ground in a heap). Ho hum!

And this is not an excuse for my recent unacceptable absence from these diary pages. Even though RF has done an excellent job of covering my back (joke!).

In the meantime, life moves forward in leaps and bounds, More music pours forth in Soundworld One, and I have found at least one of the singers I seek for Songbook#2.

We have also been trying to prepare a press release about the V Factor and #IamTheVicar and are torn between titles such as "How to make music if you don’t exist" (about the obsession with personality/celebrity and Vicarious reactions to it) or "Is The X Factor killing music?" and the way that it appears to have coloured a whole generations’ understanding of what "good singing" is (and our own reaction to it). But which? Or maybe something else? Decisions, decisions (mostly sticking a pin in the dark as I’m no journalist).

It may be that Robert will answer the question about the solo for "What kind of Man reads Playboy", but I suspect that the much admired solo was possibly the only take, He had very little time for all his takes in between KC commitments and so simply went into the studio for a day and blasted away. In fact, one of things that excited us about the newly acquired multi tracks (and rights) to the Summers/Fripp albums was that he has always felt that some of his best playing did not, for various reasons, find its way onto the album - so there may be room for outtakes/new takes.

Now excuse me while I get up, spin round a bit, and get some food.
