Five days into their North American tour since 1982 and it’s one of those occasions where you can really sense the build up in tension during Entry Of The Crims. Then comes the nail being hit on the head as LTIA III hammers down causing folks in the Santa Barbara crowd to, (checks notes), ‘lose their shit.’ Further proof of what a hot ticket the band was at the time is apparent during Thela Hun Ginjeet, demonstrating a precise grip of the song’s dynamics. “That’s from our brand new album, Three Of A Perfect Pair. That’s all the commercial space we have for the evening,” deadpans Belew after a particularly knotty Industry and then going on to usher in Dig Me and the title track containing one of Ade’s particularly dotty, atonal noise attacks. The sonic assault continues though now led from the drums with Bruford’s very yellow Simmons kit kicking off a particularly hairy Indiscipline. While not the best-sounding audience recording it certainly has its moments.
