Despite being well-worn, well-known, not to mention well-beloved by a majority of Crimheads around the world, every now and then a version of Red will stand out from the crowd, grasp you by the lapels pulling you up close and DEMAND your attention. Dear reader, this rendition of Red is one of those. Several points throughout the gig share this wild quality to them. From THRAK, with a very groovy faux-organ solo from Fripp’s fingers, through to Sex, Sleep, Eat, Drink, Dream, where Fripp’s fingers border on the impatient when it comes to anticipating the blowing section, onto a rowdy People and the inverted anarchy of Vrooom Vrooom, where they almost seem about to run out of fretboard, this really is a powerful rollercoaster performance. Indiscipline is a marvellous collision of energy, enthusiasm, precision, and, every now and then when it counts, blunt force trauma, all deployed with a sparkling vigour. Special stuff from Boston.
