Even though the sound quality is sometimes akin to the noise a bunch of rocks might make in a domestic washing machine on a fast spin, such is the quality of the playing on this full-length concert by the Crims that it’s still worth braving this audience recording. The inclusion of material from Starless And Bible Black which had been released the previous month, has broadened the band’s repertoire. The Great Deceiver, Lament, and a particularly robust Fracture all command attention. So too do the improvs, especially the genteel, beautifully tender piece that coalesces into Trio-like territory prior to Easy Money. There is of course even newer material in the shape of the just recently completed Starless. Away from such unwanted chance interventions, the piece builds remorselessly to its cathartic conclusion. MInds blown. Job done.

2 for the sound quality, 5 stars for the playing. Again, a tough listen, but through the murk, there's some great playing. You can also hear the audience in the background.
