Known for its metric complexity, following the bars and beats in King Crimson’s material isn’t always easy, especially when it’s a member of the Larks’ Tongues family. Sometimes even members of the band have to sit down and count things out in order to map out what’s happening and where things should go next. Against the finished version of Larks’ Tongues In Aspic Part IV, we hear Pat Mastelotto counting the bars and the beats per bar as an Aide-mémoire during the recording of The ConstruKction Of Light.

This Track is available as part of Mr Stormy's Monday Selections. His Seventh year of treasures from the murky, cavernous DGM archives, are now available in Full Flac Fidelity

The rewards of work.
Another example of the work put in to achieve the end. Enlightening and entertaining. Thanks DGM.

Pats lyrics may be "by the numbers", but I’m singing this all the time now. In the shower, on the train, at the desk in work...

The grandmothers
A nice surprise to hear Pat suddenly quote "I’ve fallen and I can’t get up" from The Grandmothers in this count down mayhem at 3:32.

Blimey
This track, with Pat’s counting, generated huge admiration from me. This will also be of great use to all those budding KC tribute bands. ;-)
