Those nice folks at Voiceprint have given us a copy of the Rock Goes To College dvd from Bruford.
Featuring Bill with Jeff Berlin on bass, Alan Holdsworth on guitar, Dave Stewart on keyboards and a guest spot from vocalist Annette Peacock, it was recorded in March 1979 as part of the BBC TV series, Rock Goes To College.
A cracking performance from the main players this dvd is a must-have for any fan of what Bill calls a “rock group with fancy chords.”
All you have to do is tell me the name of the city and the year mentioned in the Robert Calvert title currently residing in 9th place on Voiceprint’s Top Seller list for August. Then leave your answer on the DGMLive guestbook.
And if that answer isn’t something you can just pluck from the top of your head, then you can visit the Rock Goes To College page at Voiceprint for a clue.
The winner will be picked using a drum stick imbued with special winner-sniffing properties which Bill keeps for this very kind of occasion and will be announced on September 26th.
You can read my take on this frankly fabbo item over on my blog.

There’s still a couple of days left to enter the Julie Driscoll 1969 competition, of which we have two copies to give away to DGMLive visitors who can tell me the name of the record on which Boz, Julie and Crimso co-founder Ian McDonald all appeared together. The winners will be announced on September 20th.
