Judy Dyble, ex-GG&F and occasional member of Fairport
Convention, is very busy at the moment.
She’s just finished work on two albums Spindle and The Whorl (released
February and May 2006 respectively on the Talking Elephant label) and both will
feature contributions from Robert Fripp.
“Robert's guitar part and soundscape sound just sensational, so good that we have done two totally different mixes of the song” said Judy earlier this week. The track in question is called Shining.
Whilst the version on Spindle sees Fripp playing guitar
parts, the mix on The Whorl in May 2006 will be more soundscape
orientated.

The Whorl will also have a new recording of I Talk To The Wind – a song Judy last tackled in the confines of Brondesbury Road’s makeshift vocal booth back in 1968.
Both albums are produced by Swordfish from Astralasia who contributed a trance-dance version of I Talk To The Wind to the Crimson tribute album, Schizoid Dimensions.
As if all this activity wasn’t enough Judy has been working and writing with violinist Simon House, best known for his work with The Third Ear Band, Hawkwind and David Bowie.
Judy also mentioned she’s been listening to Love Cannot
Bear, which she describes as “Wondrous. The final track (Requiem – Affirming) was
playing late yesterday afternoon as the sunset and all the tops of the trees
turned to deep gold. Coo-er!”
