Bredonborough.

10.15

Rising 06.30. Down to prepare an anniversary card and two presents for T. Delivering to the bedroom, Toyah was hiding in the bathroom to jump out and give me a Birthday Boo, but relented when she saw me bearing gifts.

On this day in 1986…

Witchampton Church of St. Mary, St. Cuthurga and All Saints

The floral bouquet held by T, on our wedding day, is now on the bureau in our Bug Snug…

There is a still presence, profoundly moving for me, in an English churchyard. Sloping up behind this church, at the top in the rear row, my Father is in place following his flying-away on April 13th. 1985 and joined by my Mother in 1993. Since then, we have added ashes from my Father’s youngest Brother Charles; and in 2013 ashes of Uncle Bill, aka Squadron Leader Alfie Fripp RAF (retired).

From the church, a two-hundred yard walk along the drove road to Fernhill House, my home since 1980 in this, the Fripp family village of Witchampton…

To St. Edith’s home on Rowlands Hill, Wimborne…

Another significant part of this significant day, of May 16th. 1986: the sale was completed on Red Lion House, Cranborne, which I visited during the morning. Toyah and myself bought the property together, which became the first Guitar Craft House for extended residential courses.

10.34 Morning reading and writing…

The back door…

15.10 The street is active today…

16.12 Peter Millichip for social-distanced cup of tea at 15.00.

Down the garden…

Our Wedding Anniversary seat for 1988, acquired from Cranborne Garden Centre and originally at Reddish House, our first marital home…

17.56 A Zoomy with Patricia and Superhero Dan Maddux, my exemplar in matters of Super Heroism.

19.39 Down the garden…

Now towards the completion of a wonderful day, with a plenitude of friends and generous people extending good wishes to us, thank you. I am blessed.

Final footnote to this excellent day…
