Huxleys Terminal Five Heathrow Rising

09.39.

Huxley’s, Terminal Five, Heathrow.

Rising at 05.01 from adventures on the road. Toyah was up at 02.30, doing accounts in the kitchen.

Bags by the door…

Traveling once more.

The KevinMobile was already in place by 06.13. The Minx & WillyFred were not happy to see me leave I…

… but into the KMobile it was…

… arriving Terminal Five c. 08.20.

While breakfasting in Giraffe, an Orthodox monk came & sat at my table for his tea & sandwiches. This was unusual. Not only have I never seen an Orthodox monk at Heathrow (and few religious of any order) Giraffe had other seats available & sharing a table was not necessary. But who I am to deny a seat at any table to an Orthodox monk?

The here to Huxley’s with computing underway…

Boarding c. 11.00.

16.28 US Central Time.

Red Carpet Club El Modesto, Chicago O’Hare, F Concourse.

The BA flight was the first flight for a new stretch version of the 747-400. There were a few teething problems with the new fab entertainment system: it didn’t work. It has films in a large library that someone, in this case me, would actually like to see. And then it worked!

A packed flight, almost every seat full in five (including upstairs, six) cabins…

The fiftyish man on my right was traveling with another couple. His wife & the other wife talked nonstop for c. 4.5 hours from boarding. Clearly a women of some energy, that is, before she began talking non-stop.

An acceptable flight, c. 45 minutes getting through immigration, moving from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 & here to the Red Rug Club (ie not quite a Carpet). This is the most modest RCC I have ever entered…

The coffee is lukewarm and the wifi moved from exceptionally-slow to stationary.

A call to Sistery & Biff. The connecting flight to Madison is at 17.45 & Mr. Beefy is collecting me at the airport.

20.45    Hotel Acceptable, Madison, Wisconsin.

A light commuter flight I…

To the hotel…

The Happy Gigsters’ Guide warns us that if we check in after daylight has gone… when you wake in the morning & gaze hopefully from your window, you will discover that your room overlooks a motorway, a parking lot, a construction site, a filling station, or any combination of these. Your room is also likely to be adjoining the ice machine and/or an industrial level air-conditioning plant.

The room is good I…
